How Can A Painful Lump On The Lower Buttock Be Treated?

Hello. I have had a lump on my butt cheek for almost a year, just been there, no pain until about a week ago. Very painful now.. Tried to pop and drain it but only a little blood so doesn t seem like a boil. The surrounding has reddened up a bit and a bit hard. What do I do please??

Hi.

First of all, you shouldn't have popped it. But now, apply a warm compress over the region for as many times as possible. Also, if you start getting symptoms like a fever and so on, visit a doctor and you may require a proper I&D. But you can also purchase an over-the-counter topical antibiotic like neosporin to the region and dress with a sterile dressing.

Best wishes.
