How Can A Painful Sore On The Right Thigh Be Treated?

ive got pressure sore on my right thigh I got cream from my dr its healing slowly it went down in size but its still really pain ful can I put cold compress on it or what would be better to help pain I cant take a lot of pain meds got one kidney
