Hi,

The parotid papilla is the opening of the duct that connects the parotid gland to the mouth so that the saliva can be carried from gland to mouth.

You can do warm saline gargles and antiseptic mouthwash gargles. Suck ice as it will help in reducing the infection. Take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Advil.

Avoid spicy and irritant foods and drinks more of fluids. If there is no improvement consult an oral physician and get evaluated. Avoid chewing and most probably dipping tobacco to avoid further inflammation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
