How Can A Pus Filled Pimple On The Cheek Be Treated?

I had a pimple under a trapped gland on my cheek for a year or so, just recently it has flared up and become really big and red. Last night it popped and a lot of puss came out for about half an hour. It seemed to be all gone but now my full cheek is swollen. Is this normal and how do I get it to go down?

Hi.
As per your case history you are having a sebaceous cyst with secondary infection.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesion further as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain and swelling.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
5. Only curative treatment is excision under local anesthesia done by a dermato-surgeon.

Thanks.
