How Can A Rectal Tear Be Treated?

I had prostate seed implant for prostate cancer with seven weeks of radiation treatments. There is damage to lining of my rectum which causes some bleeding in my stools. I was told this should heal but, it s been 3 years & the conviction still exists. Is there a treatment for this?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Consult a general surgeon and get evaluated. Small tears generally heal by itself. If the tear is large you have to suture the wound. As of now you can apply local antibiotics for faster recovery.

Hope I have answered your query.
