How Can A Red Rash At The Vaccination Shot Site Be Treated?

I received a shingles vaccine shot on Friday. Saturday I developed swelling and a red rash at the injection site as well as a soreness to the touch. It continues and how, Sunday evening, the swelling has increased and the red surface has also increased to a diameter of about 3 1/2 inches. Is this something I should be concerned about?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Sometimes reaction can develop at injection site. Nothing to worry about. Keep it under observation and if it persists apply cortisone cream on it twice daily.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
