How Can A Ruptured Baker S Cyst Be Treated?

I have a ruptured baker s cyst. It ruptured on Friday, and was confirmed by ultra sound. My doctor spoke with me on the phone for about 10 minutes, mostly about pain, elevation, and how it wasn t DVT. I want this to heal as quick as possible, should I emerse my entire leg in ice water, or just ice my knee, or use other methods, heat, massage, etc?

Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM
I have read and understood your concern.
I am happy more life-threatening condition like DVT has been eliminated.I will advise you follow the advise of your Doctor.Just rest well and the fluid will resorb progressively in 3 to 8weeks. You may try the following:
-If pain too intense, pain drugs like aceclofenac or tramadol may help
-Elevate leg, ice your knee.
When baker cyst ruptures hopefully it will not come back.
Hope this will help
Wish you a speedy recovery. You may write back if more concerns.
Best regards
