How Can A Scab On The Nose Be Treated?

Hello. This past Wednesday, October the 4th, I had my nose cauterized for some pretty large vessels. I ve been trying not to rub it, but I ve also had a cold, so my nose has been runnier than usual, causing my to dab my nose quite a bit and go through a lot of Kleenex. Tonight, parts of the outer scab came off and it s a little bloody. Is this bad or is it something that will resolve itself? Thanks!

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

to help the wound be a little isolated and heal well it might be helpful to put some Vaseline ointment on it regularly so it does not dry out and bleed and also is not so sensitive to the local trauma.
If the wound is getting bigger or the area is getting red or swollen you will need to see your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards,
Antoneta Zotaj, MD
