Hello, Four years ago during my last trimester of pregnancy, I noticed a skin tag between my labia major and labia minor on my right side. I asked my doctor about it and he just said it was a skin tag and that after I delivered I could have it removed. I never thought much more about it because it seemed to shrink and almost disappear after I have birth (via C-section). But then I would occasionally itch in the area where it once was. The itch felt like a mosquito bite itch where it didn t really itch . . . until it did, if that makes sense. I asked another doctor about this about 2 yrs ago and she didn t see anything and seemed dismissive of it. Well, over the last 6 months or so, the itch has become more prevalent - seemingly during certain times of the month and at night (it wakes me up sometimes). Whenever I looked at the area with a mirror, I couldn t really see anything outside of redness/irritation. I went to see a gyn today and she excised an area of my labia to send off to biopsy. She had zero bedside manner, mentioned cancer several times but then said she didn t think that s what it was but said she had never seen anything like what she saw. All I saw from the specimen collection was a flesh colored lump of skin. I m still not clear on what exactly she saw, but now I am freaking out. I am 45 yrs old and perimenopausal. I have not had any pain or discharge or bleeding - just the itching which doesn t occur during the day or even every day. What else could this be??
