How Can A Small Bump On The Hand Be Treated?

I had a small bump on the top of my left hand, it looked a bit like a pimple. It was firm and after it showed up, it didn t seem to get any bigger. I broke it open and clear fluid came out. After it healed, the bump reappeared. Any ideas what it might be?
