Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband has had a small spot type lump on his scalp which seemed to scan I thought it to be a mole he made bleed by accident. No itching just that is was there bothered him, this evening it actually detached from his scalp leaving a hole the spot is a waxy rice type thing that is hard to touch. We are worried what this can be? Any help would be great
I really appreciate your concern for your husband. Looking at your description it seems to be dermoid cyst or sebaceous cyst. I would like to have further information for better assessment of the condition.
If possible upload a photograph, and data about his age and relevant medical history. Meanwhile keep it clean and dry, apply some antiseptic solution to avoid infection and further deterioration of the condition. In my opinion you should immediately consult a general surgeon for physical examination and dressing.
Hope this answers your question, please feel free to ask for further information, I will be happy to help you.
Best wishes, Dr. B R Hudda
