Hello, I have readup on several other of the posts below and mine seems to be similar but as you know, every case in the medical field is different. I have a very swollen lymph node under my right jaw. I feel it whe I open my mouth very wide, when I turn my head to the right, and when I gently rub it. Notice I said gently because it hurts to touch. I always get sinus infections and have had 3 sinus surgeries the past 10 years. I also take long term paid medication due to nerve damaged caused by one of the surgeries that did not go so well. I have been on this treatment since 2009. Anywya, this particular lymph node started really hurting about 10 or so days ago. I DID have bronchitis a little over a month ago to which I was NOT on antibiotics but really high does of step-down prednisone. I have been done with this regimen for a while now. I have been doing great since the bronchitis bout. I am really trying to piece all of this together to see what may be causing this. I am also having terrible headaches (some due to the issues I take the pain meds for - but am noticing a little more than normal). i ahve taken BC headache powders for this. As far as this incredibly sore/swollen lymph node under my jaw...I dont know. i already do drink plenty of water and it is clear when I go to the restroom. I have also tried cold and warm compresses. They seem to help some. There has to be something I can do without going BACK to the Doc again?? Please help! Mr. G.G.
Only thing I can say is that you need a detailed investigation which may include USG of neck, Chest X-ray, CAT scan for your sinuses and blood counts. Further how is your immune status? Did you have any other co-morbid conditions like Diabetes mellitus or other conditions? What was your sinus infection? Was it fungal?
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
