How Can A Sore Red Spot In The Genital Area Be Treated?

I had a small red spot that was sore to the touch about a month ago. It s not as pronounced as it was but it still seems to be there. I am going to a new dr. in a few days and I m worried/embarrassed to ask about it. I don t know if it s an std, I look online and I don t see any pictures of what it is like. I m scared it s a herpes thing.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your case history of the sore area on genital, my treatment advice is –

1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetirizine for itching and NSAID (Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) like ibuprofen for pain.
