How Can A Spider Bite Be Treated?

I got what I m assuming is a spider bite yesterday. I didn t notice it right away until a weird rash spot appeared on my neck. By that night a spot 1 finger width away became slightly swollen. I took a benedryl last night. Today, I wasn t feeling great and laid down for about 30 mins. My neck is more swollen and has become painful since. It feels like it is throbbing but the area that is swollen isn t red. I m not running a fever but I do feel nauseous and lightheaded. Is this something, that I need looked at or should Benedryl suffice?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Since the bite area is swollen and painful, along with you having symptoms of nausea and lightheadedness, it is advisable to seek medical attention promptly by consulting Physician. You need to be examined clinically and assessed, so that it can be appropriately treated. Intake of Benadryl wouldn't suffice.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
