How Can A Sting Causing Scapula Swelling With A Red Line Rash?

i was stung earlier, about 4 hrs ago. i applied cold press. it swelled up a little while later, but now there is a red line running in opposite directions from the sting site which is on my right scapula. no other symptoms mentionalbe, except the sting site still stings but no stinger

Hi welcome to Healthcaremagic,
Insect sting causes immediate immune reaction at the site, leading to inflammation and associated vasodilation (blood vessels dilate). This causes itching and red discolouration, rarely in a linear fashion around the area.
An antihistamine tablet (Chlorpheniramine) can relieve these symptoms.
Please watch out for severe generalized itching, breathlessness, swelling at sting site or generalized oedema. In such a case you have to rush to the nearby clinic. You might be going in for an anaphylactic reaction that can be life threatening.
