How Can A Swelling At The IV Injection Site Be Treated?
My wife had an IV injection for heart procedure. The blood vessel at the site of the injection has swollen with no evidence of blood leakage from the vein. Is this a serious issue or can we put a compress, either cold or warm, to treat the swelling?
As per your case history, you are having injection site swelling. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't scratch the lesions as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply an antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily. 3. Take an NSAID(Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) like ibuprofen twice daily.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
