How Can A Thorn Prick Wound On The Ring Finger Be Treated?
My boyfriend have a thorn from a bougainvillea pierce the back of his hand ring finger between the knuckle. It is swollen and he can’t make a fist. We were told ebson salt and warm water to soak in would help. Is this something he needs to go to the urgent care for as he does not have a primary?
Dear patient thorn pick may lead to local infection especially with fungus like actinomycosis. it is rare but can happen. Please visit to nearby clinic for examination. If pick is not bleeding dressing may not be required. Take tab zerodol sp twice a day for pain relief. Tab cefixime 200 mg twice a day for 5 days to prevent secondary infection.
