Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
On the right side i feel like i have something stuck by my tonsil. It doesnt hurt, just kind of irritating. Also, i have TMJ and am currently going through what i call a flare up (dont know if that is a term used often with TMJ). I also have had tonsil stones frequently since i was about 16 (currently 29). This feels like a tonsil stone but i can not see anything and i have tried all the tecniques i know to get a tonsil stone out but no luck. I have had this feeling on and off for about 1 1/2 weeks. Should i see my doc again?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
If the tonsil stone is not visible to you then it is possibly present in deeper crevice or might be a feeling of something struck in throat can be due to inflammation in throat or tonsils. Also if there is a flare up in the TMJ better consult an Oral Surgeon and get a Panoromic x ray done. For tonsil stone consult an Otorhinolaryngologist and get checked, if there is a tonsil stone present he can remove it using ling fine tweezer tips.. For TMJ you can be advised mouth guards, painkillers and also take a soft diet. Avoid opening mouth too wide.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Honey Arora
