How Can A Urinary Tract Infection Be Treated?

I have been dealing with an overabundance of CANDIDA KRUSEI for about 2 years now. No antibiotics have worked so far so my Urogynecologist has now prescribed KETOCONAZOLE 200MG. I m reluctant to take yet another antibiotic, since this is what probably got me into this situation in the first place when I took several meds for UTI infections. Does this medicine work for Candida Krusei overgrowth?

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Candida krusei has been recognized as multi drug resistant fungal species, It is not susceptible most of the antifungal agent. Even recently it is observed that its resistance to Amphoterecin B is also progressively increasing. Only Voriconazole is found to be still effective against this organism. So I am not very sure whether Ketoconazole will have any effect at all. You may have to check about Voriconazole as a possible treatment unless it has been already tried. Thanks
