How Can Abdominal Bloating And Bleeding During Defecation Be Treated?

Hi, I am 61 yo F with stomach discomfort with gas at night. For the past 2-3 weeks I have frequently seen blood with bowel movements, which I thought was probably internal hemorrhoids. But with the stomach discomfort and gas at night for the past 3 nights, it must be something else. And today I have a belly ache, too. This is new. I have an appointment with my GI next week. I am gluten free - gluten intolerance, which diet the same GI suggested I follow 4-5 years ago. Thank you

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Abdominal bloating and discomfort can be a gas formation in the stomach due to Hyperacidity. This requires consumption of bubbling water like plain soda or ENO.

Besides to relieve hyperacidity, starts capsule Omeprazole. Bleeding while defecation is due to hemorrhoids for which you have to consult the surgeon to decide whether to treat it by medicines or by surgery.

Till then you consult surgeon start Smuth cream application in the morning and evening after defecation. Avoid spicy and oily foods to prevent constipation and take a high fiber diet.
