How Can Abdominal Bloating And Diarrhea Be Treated?

Hi. I would like to ask re my son a 13y/o male is experiencing bloated stomach. No flatus, (+) mild abdominal pain. In the past 3 days he experienced diarrhea which already stopped since yesterday.. Our friend doctor adviced him to take Erceflora (Bacillus clausii) , in which he already took for 2 days already.

Hello! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

It is very common to have gut infection in children and don't worry. Probiotics like bacillus clausii are actually useful bacteria that help in rejuvenating the intestinal epithelium. Probiotics are generally recommended for 5 days. So you can administer erceflora to your child for another 3 days. Let me make sure that it hasn't got any side-effects. Abdominal bloating would come down as the infection decreases like in 1 or 2 days. Oral rehydration solutions are needed in order to prevent dehydration.

Hope I have clarified your doubt. Any further doubts, please let me know. I'm happy to help you. Thank you for the query.

Take care
