How Can Abdominal Pain Caused By Cyst In Kidney Be Treated?
I have lower right quadrant abdominal pain so I had a CT scan. It came back and said:
There is an exophytic 12 mm cyst in the upper pole of the right kidney. The kidneys are otherwise unremarkable without evidence of mass, hydronephrosis, or calculus.
I was told nothing to worry about, yet I still have pain. What do you suggest?
Your findings suggest small simple cyst in upper pole of right kidney. Simple renal cysts are generally age related developmental finding and it only require follow up ultrasound. Renal cysts may require treatment if there is pain, increase in size of cysts, infection etc.
You are rightly advised that there is nothing to be worried about,Pain may be due to some other reasons. You may need proper clinical evaluation and conservative treatment.
