Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Abdominal Pain While Suffering From Balanitis Be Treated?
My son (5) was seen by a doctor and told he had balanitis. He has had 2 UTI infections previously , and I believe he may actuaslly have another . He complains his belly hurts and he has to pee all the time. He pees 3-4 times per hour with very minimal pee each time. The doctor said this will go away on its own, but I m afraid it will get worse as it has now been 5 days..
I agree that he may need repeat medication to treat the symptoms of urinary tract infection.
He also needs imaging of his urinary tract. Infections are far more common in girls and boys because of the structural differences of the urinary tract (it is different between the sexes). A boy who has repeated urinary tract infections needs imaging of the urinary tract to see if there is a change in structure or abnormality that is causing repeat infections.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
