How Can Abdominal Pain While Suffering From Hepatomegaly?

good afternoon doc. my daughter is having a mild hepatomegaly, which found it ultrasound, she s been admitted for having 4 days abdominal pain, and vomiting,what kind of food she avoided, and what medicine should be take not to affect her lever? her SGPT/ALT result is. 54.51 U/L.The SGOT/AST IS 52.05 U/L.Thank you.

I can understand your concern.
Liver is surrounded by capsule. So when liver enlarges (hepatomegaly) it stretches the capsule and this cause pain in abdomen.
Treatment for this is
1. Avoid all hepatotoxic drugs like painkillers, antipyretics, anti inflammatory etc. Commonly used drugs are paracetamol, ibuprofen, diclofenac etc. You should avoid such drugs.
2. High protein diet is good for quick recovery. More sugar orally is also advisable.
3. Avoid oily, spicy and fatty food.
Don't worry, she will be alright with all these.
