Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
So I ve tried a lot to clear up my acne, and deep like red spots in my skin. Like it s not like insane acne but it s little bumps all over my face pretty much. I was just wondering if you had any ideas of what really works in clearing up my face. My mom keeps saying I m allergic to all the stuff I ve tried using, and to just use water, but if I wash my face with water it doesn t take off the makeup, so it s difficult. I just wanna know what to do. And make my face go clear so I don t gotta hide it no more.
You can try the following: If you are a young female you can go on a combined oral contraceptive pill if there are no contraindications. This will help with any hormonal imbalances.
You can also try a topical gel like benzoyl peroxide (benzac) to use daily with the pill or with any other treatment choice.
If you decide against the pill, try a course of antibiotics eg tetralysal 150mg twice a day for a month and reassess your progress.
Avoid harsh products, you can use a mild hypoallogenic facial cleanser like cetaphil.
Do increase your water intake, and maintain a healthy diet.
If you do not wish to take any medication orally, try a topical application like zineryt + epiduo ( an antibiotic with zinc and a retinoid).
Hope this helps.
