How Can Acne With Medication Induced Erythema Be Treated?

im currently using epiduo gel to treat my acne. problem is that my dermatologist gave me this kit that contained a facial cleanser that had salycilic acid in it. unfortunately i was not warned not to use salycilic acid while using epiduo and have developed erythema please help!!!

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have noticed acne which occur because skin has increased sensitivity of getting pigmented and it leads to post inflammation hyper-pigmentation and you took combination of epiduo gel and salycilic which cause negative impact on skin. I would suggest you to wash your face daily with cold water and apply cream containing azelac acid which is good for acne as well as marks . Apply aloe vera gel at night. You should apply MELALITE XL cream which is combination of hydroquinone + Tretinoin + steroid and apply it at night time. If condition doesn't get well in a week then consult dermatologist for proper examination and treatment . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like minocyclin, steroid ointment and may recommend chemical peeling for marks .
