How Can Acute Bronchitis Be Treated?

I have acute bronchitis according to the doctor. It started last week with a dry cough and I could feel something in my chest. Now my head hurts, I cough uncontrollably sometimes, and I’m tired. I slept all day yesterday. I’m a teacher. When is it safe to go back to work?

Hello,

As per your clinical history is concerned, please follow like this:

1) Do a clinical examination by your Doctor [pulmonologist] and do CBC with differential to confirm if it is viral or bacterial.

2) Discuss with your treating Doctor about antibiotics a cough syrup and you can go to school after completion of medication course.

Do follow lifestyle modifications like this:
1) Try to avoid cigarette smoke.
2) Get vaccinated. Getting a yearly flu vaccine can help protect you from getting the flu. You may also want to consider vaccination that protects against some types of pneumonia.
3) Wash your hands frequently and get in the habit of using hand sanitizers.
4) Try to wear a surgical mask when facing crowds.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
