How Can Aggressive And Antisocial Behaviour Be Corrected In An Adult?

Sir. I want to know that a 30 years old young educated graduate son is experienced by his aggressive negative behaviour, disrespecting parents and elders, not willing to go to any doctor for his treatment of his type of ill behaviour. He has very much independent feeling for spending money as he likes, engages himself in video game playing or to spent time silently . He does not like to engage him self in any work, reading or business or any positive work for good engagement /for earning but demands more from parents for his secure finance.Very rarely likes to be clean and tidy in a good dress, daily bath .It is very difficult for parents to adjust with him. I would to know that how can he be changed to lead a normal good behaved human in family with parents and in society.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Unfortunately, if he is already 30 years old, it will be very hard to do anything to change him. In my opinion, the best thing you can do is not financially support him while he is acting irresponsibly, and hopefully, when he faces the consequences of his lifestyle, he will find the motivation to change. However, if he continues to get financial support while living this way, I see no reason why he would change. It would be important to communicate to him that you are doing this out of love for him and the hope that he will change.

I too have seen this problem with family members and it is not easy. I hope the best for you and him.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Aaron Branch,
