How Can Allergic Cough And Chest Discomfort Be Treated?

Hi I was spray painting and did not wear a mask and there was poor ventilation in the room. I was in there for about 10 minutes. I have a cough and my chest feels uncomfortable. My throat also hurts. Is there anything I can do to help eleviate the symptoms?

Hello,

As your cough and throat discomfort is due to the allergy from the paint, you should take an OTC NSAID such as Advil and an antihistamine such as Loratadine which will help you deal with initial symptoms and soothe your throat.

Drink plenty of liquids such as water or tea to ease the thick mucus. Warm saline gargles at regular intervals will also help. And steam inhalation will also help keep your airway moist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
