Hello,

First, you have to rule out is it allergic cough or tuberculosis or bronchiectasis or allergic bronchitis or cough variant of asthma.

So get sputum for grams staining and acid-fast staining. Get it done a chest x-ray and sputum culture.

Eosinophil count may also play an important role. Avoid allergens that triggering cough. Use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days.

Use tablet montelukast and levocetirizine once a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
