How Can Allergic Rash After Taking Augmentin Be Treated?

Hi ı had a reaction to Augmentine and I am suffering from a bad rash. Was given antihitamine med through injection about 3 pm.Was perscribed Kestine 10 mg tablet ı took ıt around 10pm. It didn t help Now it is 3:20 am and I cannot sleep I found reactine at home. Would that help? I have a bad rash and I cannot sleep but I am also worried that m I have taken too many antihistamines in the last 12 hours What do you think? Thanks Bahar

Hi,

Usually the antihistamines like Kestine are known to cause drowsiness, sleepiness, dry mouth, increased heart beats, and constipation. Since you seem to be not getting sleep even after taking Kestine at 10 pm, hence you can take 5 mg of Reactine tablet which may not only help you sleep but also relieve symptoms associated with allergic rash caused by Augmentin. Avoid taking Augmentin and consult your treating doctor for an effective alternate but a safer antibiotic for the infection.
