How Can Allergic Rashes On The Skin Be Treated?

I took the dog in the yard, as I do frequently, came in the house, and soon I was itching. Red blotches appeared near my crotch and bicep areas. I took 2 Benadrl and soon got relief. Now, a few hours later, the rash and itch reappeared on my upper, inner arms, reaching my inner elbow, plus blotches on my torso. I just took 2 more Benadryl.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain rashes and severe itching seems to be most probably due to allergic reaction lading to Contact Dematitis and can be due to causes like allergic reaction to any food or medication while it can also be due to surface allergens like Poison ivy, detergents etc..

It can also be due to Mite infestation causing Scabies..

I would suggest you to consult an Allergist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like allergic tests like Patch test, RAST test, food challenge test etc can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

The tests will help in ruling out the exact cause of the allergen and once you know the cause of the allergic reaction you can avoid exposure to it to prevent allergy attack..

The allergist can advise to oral anti allergics as well as injectable steroids for relief..

In case of Scabies Oral Ivermectin and topical application Premetherin can be advised to you..

As of now you can take anti-allergics like Levocetrizine, Allegra to control the itching and swelling..
Do cool compresses..
Application of calamine lotion can help in soothing the skin..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
