hi, I am 79 and get hives from a lot of things. to my knowledge, I am not allergic to lidocaine given for shots in dentists offices. I have sciata and the doctor wants to recommend this kind of patch for pain relief. Is it okay to try? YYYY@YYYY
As you already have a history of allergies to a number of things.
Therefore, you should discuss with your doctor and get an Allergy test done along with a Patch test of the painkiller medicine that you are being advised so that you do not suffer from any unexpected allergy or side effect.
Accordingly, you can proceed with the painkillers being advised to you. Also keeping anti-allergic medicine or Epipen after discussing with your Doctor is always safe for individuals with multiple allergies.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Honey Arora, Dentist
