How Can Allergic Skin Reaction Around A Surgical Wound Be Treated?

Hello my boyfriend had back surgery and they had to use internal stitches to close up the fascia and he has a history of having an allergic reaction to these....we have been using benadryl and cortisone cream with minimal relief. We are 3 hours away from his doctor that done the surgery...any suggestion on what else we can do?

Hi
Thanks for trusting HealthCare magic for your health problems.

Instead of using benadryl use tablet levocetrizine 12 hourly.
Better to avoid steroids in wound area to avoid further infections in it.
