How Can Alopecia Areata Be Detected?

I was told that I have alopecia areata. I have been losing hair for two years and I have tried everything from vitamins to dermatology visits and continue to lose hair daily. I understand that there is no treatment out there other then hair transplant. Recently cut my hair and it has grown back but not n the area where it is bald. Please tell if there are other ways of determining if I have that skin disease. Blood work was done but all came back negative. HELP!!!!!!!!!!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for asking here,
Dear if all reports came normal and there is patch or patches of hair loss then it could be Alopacia areota.Since it is a autoimmune which means no specific cause of this. But I have seen the patients who prevented from further increasing these patches after taking good care of diet and multivitamins.Else intradermal steroid injection also help under skin specialist supervision.
Best Regards.
