How Can An Abrasion In The Vagina Be Treated?

I have an abrasion on the inside lip of my vagina and was prescribed mometasone furoate cream. I was told I could rub a small amount on the abrasion by the doctor even though the instructions say to put it on externally. can it be placed on the inside of the vagina?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I am sorry for the problems you are facing.

Mometasone furoate cream should not be used inside the vagina.

Abrasion you have on the inside lip of your vagina should be further investigated to determine if it is due to any sexually transmitted disease/infection; trauma? new detergent or other intimo chemicals?

Biopsy of the abrasion is recommended or swab culture testing after visiting gynecologist.

Wish fast recovery.
