Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can An Acne Wound Above The Buttocks Be Treated?
My son had a pimple at the top of the crease of his buttocks that apparently popped and drained while he was in the shower. When he got out of the shower it was bleeding. Upon inspection, there is a small, open hole where the pimple and pus were previously. The blood was bright red, no further pus came out, and there was no foul odor. After thoroughly cleaning, I had him place a non-stick pad in the area so we could see what, if anything further drained, and to keep an eye on the wound. It is in an awkward place. What should I be looking for to warrant a trip to the physician for this type of wound?
Hello dear Welcome to Health care magic family . I have gone through your concern in depth .
@ This seems in relation with sebaceous cyst most likely .
@ Suggestions for better recovery
$ Keep the part clean with antiseptic liquids . $ Local application of neosporin ointment 3 times a day . $ Avoid tight clothings . $ Watch for the progress of the wound for next 48 hours , if seems persistent as that it was from the beginning, then should consult physician otherwise not mandatory at this time .
Hope this will help you .
Wishing him fine recovery from the same . Regards dear .
