How Can An Ear Infection Be Treated?

My wife has an ear infection for which she has been taking amox-clav 875-125 mg twice a day for about a week. She became having trouble hearing speech (etc.) about the time this infection took place. Is this a common problem or more importantly, is this a solvable problem? She has one more daily dose of the medicine and she has been doing this for a week. Thank you

hi...welcome to healthcare magic .com
Due to infection ,there would be some fluid collection inside the ear which could have caused hearing problem...if her ear infection gets cured completely then she won't have any residual hearing impairment.
