Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello sir, my wife has endometric cyst of 51*37*32mm in right ovary with fine internal Echoes. She is not able to conceive since 2 years Her left ovary is ok and her hsg report is also normal showing mild encysted spillage of contrast on either side. My reports are also normal. What should we do ?
Hi Sir, thanks for your query and I do understand your concern.
Some types of ovarian cysts can result to infertility, but not always the case and most types of ovarian cysts do not cause fertility problems (can still get pregnant). There are several types of ovarian cysts:
Ovarian cysts that do not cause fertility problems: -Functional cysts -Cystadenoma -Dermoid cysts
For endometriosis, it is impossible to give women a reliable indication of their chances of having fertility problems. It is generally believed that 60–70% of women with endometriosis are fertile. Furthermore, about half the women who have difficulties with getting pregnant do eventually conceive with or without treatment.
It is necessary to ascertain the type of cyst, cyst size, and condition of your other reproductive organs to assess the likelihood of getting pregnant. We recommend that you consult your problem with obstetricians for further assessment and therapy.
Hope this help. Dr. Nurul
