Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your complain, if the abscess is present since 4 weeks and has become chronic leading to rock hard swelling under the jaw then it has to be treated with Incision and Drainage following by placing a drain pipe to facilitate complete drainage..

If the abscess is related to a deeply decayed tooth then either Root Canal Treatment or extraction of tooth followed by Oral and injectable antibiotics can help in revolving the condition..

So better to get treatment done by Oral Surgeon and do not delay as it can lead to progress of infection to deeper tissues causing Cellulitis and facial space infection..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
