Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a infection from a dog bite on my hand. It seems to be getting worse, with a little redness, swelling and stiffness. I don t think it is bad. I have some left over Cefdinir 300 mg, can I take these to help with the infection? Also, will soaking it in Epsom Salt help?
Some advice that I can give to you are:
-Place a clean towel over the injury to stop any bleeding.
-Try to keep the injured area elevated.
-Wash the bite carefully with soap and water.
-Apply a sterile bandage to the wound.
-Apply antibiotic ointment to the injury every day to prevent infection.
Hope my answer was helpful. If you have any other question Ill be glad to help.
