How Can An Infected Insect Bite Be Treated?

think I was bittin by a spider or some other kind of bug outside sitting on the grass. 3 days later it was infected with puss and very red around it. clinic gave me Fucidin cream and cephalexin 500mg pills to take 2 tablits a day. is this what will work for some kind of bite.

Hi,

Yes, it is an infected bite and as there is pus discharge it is probably a bacterial infection and needs antibiotic therapy for improvement. Cephalexin is an antibiotic and will definitely help in reducing infection and pus discharge and you need to take it for at least a week to see appropriate results.

So for now you can continue taking antibiotic and along with it continue applying Fucidin ointment. Drain the pus and keep the area clean and dry. Avoid any moisture exposure to the area so that it can help soon.
