How Can An Infected Skin Lesion Be Treated?

I have a skin leasion that was lanced about two years ago. Within the past few days it s become red and inflamed. Yesterday, it broke open and began bleeding and oozing. It is red around the edges with a dark center and is sore but not especially painful.

Hello,

What is the color of the discharge? Does it smell bad? Does pus accompany with blood? Did you take any medications for the lesion? If not then I advise you to take tablet Keflex BD (twice a day) for 3 days and regular wound cleaning is advisable with Betadine solution. If symptoms persist I suggest you to consult a physician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Indhu Priyadharshini
