How Can An Infected Surgical Scar Be Treated?

my stepson had surgery when he was three days old on his return and now he is complaining about pain in his stomach. he was taken to the hospital on Thursday and said there was scare tissue but there was a bump that has burst. Now it is leaking and wonder what to do. He is taking 600mg of ibuprofen for the pain.

Hello,

I think he should take antibiotics. A broad spectrum antibiotic such cefalosporin may be needed by injection. Also, a surgeon should clean and treat the infected operation site using betadine and hydrogen peroxide.
