How Can An Infected Wound On The Knee Be Treated?

I took a tumble & have a sore on my knee. It s a little bigger than a silver dollar. The perimeter seems to be scabbing a little, but the center looks mushy & is yellowish to me. I ve been washing it everyday and putting neosporin on it with gauze when I go out. At home I just let it breathe. What concerns me is the mushy center. Should I be concerned? Thank you
