How Can An Infection On The Thumb Be Treated?

I have an infection of some sort on/ in my thumb. It started two nights ago. It looked like a hang nail or something like that the first night. I put peroxide on it and went to bed. When I woke up the next morning the pad and side of my thumb was extremely swollen. The lump on my pad is deformed and my entire thumb is about three times larger than my other thumb. I have tried ACV, espsome salt, triple antibiotic cream, and anti fungal cream. It has reduced a little but still remains hot to the touch and swollen. Do I need an oral antibiotic? How long should it take the infection is eliminated?

thumb infection should not be taken lightly.. it may cause disability ..please see if they is put formation or not.. if tender swelling and pus..then antibiotics alone does not work.. u have to consult doctor.. so that he or she drain out pus under antibiotics..
