Hi Doc, I am 28 year old and have been suffering from painful inflammations mainly in the groyne and under arm region. This swelling is associated with accumulation of pus in the inflammatory region. I have also noticed whenever I get these swellings it is also also associated with mild cold and increased temperature. I have been suffering since my child hood days undergone various different tests with no productive result. Could you please suggest me how to get rid of this disease?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic!
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.

The symptoms you have mentioned suggest the possibility of abscesses on your arm pit (axillary) and groin. There is no need to worry because it is highly curable and chances for complications are very less.
I suggest you to consult a general practitioner and get the following things done:
1.You have to do a minor procedure called Incision and drainage (I&D) to remove pus and debris from the area.A GP or a trained nurse can easily do it.
2 A short course of antibiotics like ampiclox may be needed for five to seven days .
3.You can take analgesics like ibuorofen for pain and tenderness.
4.Hot compresses over the affected area provide symptomatic relief.
If you have repeated history of abscesses, check your blood sugar level to rule out diabetes. Which is a common cause predispose to multiple abscesses.

Hope I have answered your query.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.
