How Can An Injured Rib Be Treated?

I have cracked or bruised one of my floating ribs on the left hand side. Can you prescribe something that I can utilize over the counter? I have had a history of breaking/cracking these ribs; and am looking for something that is organic/homeopathic, anything except prescription meds

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
For a fracture you do not want to take anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen or naproxen because they can delay healing. You can take acetaminophen for pain if you do not have liver disease. Homeopathic arnica may help. Acupuncture may also help with healing.
