How Can An Insect Bite Be Treated?

I have been bitten by a tick. Dr. prescribed ten days of antibiotic (didn t peek what it was)...at pharmacy, insurance didn t cover it, so they called Dr. and I have Clindamycin HCL 150 mg. 30 caps 3x per diem. I didn t like the side effects listed! Felt I should have gotten 14 to 21 days of plain penicillin. Don t know how to handle this. New doctor for me, but I am too scared to take this. Sorry to waste your time. I have Medicaid and no income.

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern.

You need to take the medication as per prescribed one. But if you feel any severe side effects you can switch to Amoxycilin 500mg trice daily if you are not resistant to it.
Make sure you keep your wound clean and use antiseptic like H2O2 TO CLEAN It and neomycin cream over it.

Hope my answer will help you and you can write to us further if you feel any further assistance required, also provide your feed back too, so that we will improve our services.

Regards
Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
