I got a tick on me sometime during mid day on Friday. I found it on Sunday morning while showering. There was a red puffy area around the tick. Used liquid soap and it backe out, I squeezed the area cleaned with alcohol and put Neosporin ointment on the area. Today is Monday morning and the area has a one inche rashly area with a quarter inche size red ring around the bite area?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear,my name is dr,Dorina Gurabardhi.I understand your concern.
Some advices that I can give to you are:
-Apply an ice pack to a bite or sting for 15 to 20 minutes once an hour for the first 6 hours. When not using ice, keep a cool, wet cloth on the bite or sting for up to 6 hours.
-Elevate the area of the bite or sting to decrease swelling.
-Try a nonprescription medicine for the relief of itching, redness, and swelling such as Benadryl
-A spray of local anesthetic containing benzocaine, such as Solarcaine, may help relieve pain.
-Hydrocortisone 1% cream or calamine lotion applied to the skin may help relieve itching and redness.
Hope my answer was helpful,if you have any other question I will be glad to answer, thanks!
